We worked really hard on it.
The compitition took place at heritage institute of technology.
The daeth race was a track.
A really long one at that.
We had to go in a zig zag pattern over sand , then dive into a pool of water 25 cms high, and then go over sand, avoiding 4 flags and then go over a see saw mechanism.
And then climb over a steep inclined plane and then jump over it on a bed of sand.
This track wasnt that tough.
But all bots faced three common problems.
Climbing out of the water was tough since all wheels got really wet and slippery.
After climbing out of the water and then going into the sand got the wheels stuck in the sand.
And avoiding the flags thereafter was a real challenge.
Then the wheels were so full of sand and water aka sludge that we were havin trouble climbing up the inclined plane after that, which we had to jump on.
On top of it all, they wouldnt allow us to use more than 12 volts, which was a real disadvantage because of power shortage, the bots wouldnt move fast.
Well our design was simple.
That is just a car.
But the wheels were special.
We used cds to increase their diameter.
And made them thick using thermocol.
We used rubber grips.
And to top it all we used water sand paper in bits to create a real groovy grip.
We could reach speeds of 250 rpms with these wheels just on 150 rpm motors.
Since the diameter had increased 2 folds.
Well we lost this one cause we made the modifications a bit too late.
